Let´s present: The first Oceanbird Wing!
With the successful demonstration of the first wing sail from Oceanbird – Wing 560 – we enter a new phase where rigid wing sails will be a common sight on the oceans.
Meet our new CEO: Amrit Kaur Bhullar
Amrit will join as Oceanbird’s new CEO, starting 1st of January 2026. She will strengthen the commercial focus as the company enters a new phase following the demonstration of its first wing sail next week.
370,000 plastic bottles in one wing sail
The last piece of Oceanbird´s first wing sail has arrived at the yard in Landskrona – and it´s not a small piece.
The steel mast is in place!
The 40-meter-high steel mast is now installed on the foundation in Landskrona.
The mast is being welded
The steel mast inside the wing sail will transfer the forces from the wind into the ship to move it forward.
Foundation is out by the sea
The 100-ton prototype foundation is now standing by the sea in Landskrona. The next step is to install the steel mast and the aerodynamically shaped composites, and then start testing!
